About Anne
My writing career began with me first scribbling “A TOE” at the age of four on my mother’s dining room wall. I was enthralled with my written work. My mother, not so much. It was the beginning of my foray into written and spoken language, which led me to study several languages and to teach integrated language arts and history (including ancient cultures and myths) to middle school-aged students.
Throughout my teaching career, I wrote several poems, essays, short stories, and picture books. I received a mini-grant from the New York State English Council for my multicultural teaching unit. I still teach creative writing classes in local communities.
My husband and I live close to my son and daughter’s family, and I enjoy socializing with them and with many of my friends and relatives. We live on Long Island, N.Y. ,and I love reading, writing, watercolor painting, and dark chocolate. Masks-making and collecting teapots are also hobbies I enjoy. I also have eclectic tastes in music, from classical, folk, and rock to country, blues, and the music of theatrical productions like “Les Miserables” and “Phantom of the Opera”.
THE TELLING is my debut YA Thriller novel, which evolved from my love of literature, history, mythology, and all things that go bump in the night.
